Ling Qin

Ling Qin received his B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, and a second degree in Economics, both from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, in 2010. He was the absolute 1st ranker in the Department of Microelectronics at Tsinghua University upon graduation. He won Gold Medal at the 7th Asian Physics Olympaid, Almaty, Kazakhstan, and received China First Grade National Scholarship twice in 2008 and 2009, Harvard Perice Fellowship in 2010, Analog Devices Outstanding Student Designer Award in 2011, and Harvard Winokur Fellowship in 2011-2012. Ling's undergraduate thesis examined ab initio computation of graphen nanostructures.

He is currently working towards the Ph. D. degree in EE and Applied Physics at Harvard University. His broad research interests include low-dimensional plasmonics, miniature nuclear spin resonance systems design in connection with dynamic nuclear polarization, and solid-state and biological systems interface.

Ling took a 2nd place in the game show Samsung Express in 2006, was a Volunteer in the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and Paralympic Games, and participated in a 12-team national survey of rural healthcare across China in 2009.
